All our care homes are awesome and we love it when they are recognised as such. Ridgeway Care Centre, in the city of Lincoln, has scooped a national unsung heroes award from the popular magazine Yours. Ridgeway was nominated for the award by the daughter of one of the residents, in appreciation of the endless hard work and dedication shown by the staff at Ridgeway Care Centre towards their residents over the past two years. The prize, an incredible hamper of goodies, was gratefully received by our hard-working team of carers and support staff at Ridgeway Care Centre. “It has been a very challenging couple of years,” says Ann Farrow, regional support manager for Ridgeway Care Centre, “and we are extremely honoured to have been chosen for this award.”
The team have enjoyed sampling the amazing array of gifts in their prize-winning hamper, from chocolates to novels, there was something for everyone. “Our carers do an amazing job in difficult circumstances,” says Ann Farrow, “and it was lovely to see how much they enjoyed the gifts that they received. We are most grateful to the team at Yours Magazine for making this Christmas really special.”

Ridgeway Care Centre has 31 beds available for care, from those who require support with dementia, to respite care for people who are recovering from illness or operations. The manager of Ridgeway Care Centre, Edward Kaczorowski says, “our motto is ‘Our residents don’t live in our workplace, we work in their home,’ and our team have certainly embraced this motto. I am incredibly proud of the work they do and am delighted that they have been recognised for this.”
